APPAREL THAT FITS THE PLANET

At Della Terra we understand that our Mother Earth is a limited edition. And we exist to do everything in our power to help save it. Join us and be part of the change.

At Dellaterra

We firmly believe that the only way to do business is by creating financial systems and models that protect our planet and do not cause any harm to anyone, directly or indirectly, involved in our supply chain. We are and always have been radically transparent about our social and environmental practices from the beginning. Minimizing the environmental impact of our products is our priority and the pillar that guides all our design and business decisions. The climate crisis is our number one concern and we understand that to be part of the solution we must start by tracking our own footprint. All of our products have a significantly lower impact on the environment than traditional garments thanks to their fabrics, trims and packaging, as well as the processes used to produce them. We have started the process of quantifying the impact of each garment in terms of:

Energy impact
The impact of pollutants
CO2 emissions and the impact of landfills

Certified CLIMATE NEUTRAL

The Climate Neutral Certified label signifies that at DELLA TERRA, we take responsibility for our greenhouse gas emissions. To obtain the label, we must annually measure our emissions from production to the final customer, implement specific action plans to reduce emissions, and invest in high-quality verified carbon credits. At DELLA TERRA, we have invested in various projects for our offsets:

  • To prevent deforestation: Projects that reduce the risk of deforestation in critical forest ecosystems.
  • Landfill gas capture: Projects that capture methane gas from landfills to reduce emissions. The gas is then used to power local homes, providing a reliable local energy source. Wind energy: Projects that support the generation of wind energy to reduce dependency on fossil fuels.
  • Improved forest management: Projects focused on developing sustainable management and harvesting practices in forest ecosystems.

Water

We work to reduce the potential for water deprivation, either to humans or ecosystems, due to water consumption in the product value chain. We therefore choose processes that optimise water use:

  • Recirculate the water consumed during their industrial processes.
  • Have zero water dumpings during dying and printing to avoid at all costs contamination of our natural resources.
  • Use only oeko-tex and GRS approved chemicals for dyeing and finishing. monitor and control water usage.
  • In fact, the life cycle of our Hemp fabrics are traced from beginning to end and have received ECOCERT: a certification guaranteeing their sustainability.

ENERGY

Della Terra currently operates online only but it is deeply committed to operating through clean energy. This is why we have ensured our main partners share our values and take the same care for the planet that we do. Our headquarters, offices, wharehouse and main manufacturing supplier operate with solar powered energy.

TRANSPARENCY

We value transparency and believe that one of the main problems with sustainability in the fashion industry is that it is self-reported and unregulated. That is why at DELLA TERRA we have teamed up with BCome to map, measure, evaluate and digitise the impacts of our products along their value chain.

PARTNERS AND SUPPLIERS

We pride ourselves of working only with suppliers who share our values. To ensure fair labor conditions we regularly visit our manufacturer’s facilities or ask for international accreditations and certificates that provide guaranteed reliability through third party audits.

All of our partners go through an extensive vendor registration process where documentation must be provided to support the legality of their operations. We are working on developing DELLA TERRA’s own Code of Conduct to which all sourcing partners must adhere to. This is one of our main sustainability goals by end of 2021.

Additionally 100% of our garments are manufactured in Colombia, close to our HQ. This significantly helps us minimize our carbon footprint and allows us to easily collaborate with and audit our manufacturing partners and closely monitor their social and environmental practices.
